| Breaking News |  | Monday, June 1st, 2015: Bruno Snags SL1 Batting Honor in May
When Ánibal Bruno stepped up to the plate in May, he did it with confidence and today he was honored with the Sub League 1 Batter of the Month award.
The young Bakersfield center fielder posted a .330 batting average with 3 home runs, 18 RBIs and scored 24 runs. Bruno also worked pitchers for 20 walks to post a .444 on-base percentage.
So far this season Bruno is hitting .349 with 4 home runs.

 | Monday, May 25th, 2015: Rice Bags SL1 Best Player Award
23-year-old Clarence Rice sent shock waves through OTM Single A last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Sub League 1 Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Rice made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .433 average, 13 hits in 30 at-bats, 2 home runs and 14 RBI.
Where the Bakersfield Tumult right fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Rice certainly made his mark last week.
This season Rice is swinging the bat at a .310 rate with 62 hits in 200 at-bats. To date he has hit 7 home runs, scored 32 runs and driven in 47.

Relying on pinpoint control and a good array of pitches, Pete Woods of the Bakersfield Tumult held the Fort Wayne Yellow Jackets scoreless today. He scattered 3 hits over 9 innings and fanned 3 on his way to the 4-0 victory.
