It doesn't happen every day and when it does, it's exciting. Today Gene Carey of the Saint Paul Spirits had a sensational 5-6 game against Fryeburg at Saint Paul Fields. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark, but it didn't pay off in a victory. The Traders took the game 14-12.
In the postgame press conference Carey joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off... Right, Skip?" His manager retorted half-smilingly, "Only if we win the game, son... only if we win the ballgame. That's what they pay us to do, you know."
G. Carey singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off C. López in the 9th and grounded out in the 10th.

But the Traders didn't really seem to care, they won the game 14-12.
He told BNN reporters after the game that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch. It's great to get 5 hits, but it would have been nicer to win the ballgame. too."
D. McAllister singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far in 2015 McAllister is batting .266 with 4 home runs, 25 RBIs and 17 runs scored. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 44-42, .512 PCT | | Position in Division | 3rd, 10.0 GB | | Record at home | 26-18, .591 PCT | | Record on the road | 18-24, .429 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 6-4, .600 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 19-9, .679 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 15-10, .600 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 29-32, .475 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 8-2, .800 PCT | | Record in April | 13-14, .481 PCT | | Record in May | 11-18, .379 PCT | | Record in June | 15-10, .600 PCT | | Record in July | 5-0, 1.000 PCT |
