| Breaking News |  | Thursday, June 11th, 2015: Porter 5-5 for Salem At Counts Ballpark Vic Porter of the Salem Slammers put on a hitting clinic today against Amboy. He banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and mauled Nightmare pitching, but came up short in the win department.
In spite of his standout 5-hit performance, the Nightmare captured the game by the score of 6-5.
"Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," were his words in the postgame interview.
V. Porter hit a two-run double in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, doubled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
This year Porter is hitting .306 with 77 hits, 3 home runs, 45 RBIs and has scored 36 runs. |  | Monday, June 8th, 2015: SL2 Player of the Week Selected At the age of 27, Mario Ramírez might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Salem shortstop put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days collecting the Sub League 2 Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 13 hits in 26 at-bats, 1 home run and 11 RBIs last week in 6 games.
Presently Ramírez is batting .305 with 4 home runs and 38 RBIs.
