Monday, September 29th, 2014: Evansville Stops Jenkins's Hit Streak
Rabbits second baseman Jerry Jenkins and his hot bat finally met their match today, ending his 21-game hitting string. The Otters held Jenkins hitless in 4 at-bats and also whipped Ruston 1-0 at Hardaway Field.

In 2014, Jenkins is hitting .284 with 10 home runs and 72 RBIs in 151 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .326 with 31 walks and 75 runs scored.
Saturday, September 27th, 2014: Jenkins Stretches Hit String to 20
Jerry Jenkins ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games today at Hardaway Field, when he collected 1 hit in 3 at-bats.

"Hey, the streak is great. I hope it never ends. But I'm not happy when we lose the game," was his comment after Ruston was beaten 6-0 by the Portland Beavers.

"The scoreboard tells the whole story."
J. Jenkins struck out in the 2nd, struck out in the 5th and singled in the 8th.

So far this season Jenkins has 10 home runs and a .286 batting average.
Saturday, September 27th, 2014: Berry Blanks Ruston
Coy Berry effectively shut down the Rabbits today, blanking them 6-0 on 2 hits, ringing up 12 strikeouts and allowing no walks. The Beavers pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on.

"I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Berry said after the game, "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there."

The Rabbits skipper said, "We had some opportunities, but weren't able to execute. We just didn't swing the bats very well today."

Berry has made 32 starts so far this year and put up a 18-9 won-lost record with a 2.49 ERA. In 220.1 innings he has allowed 156 hits, walked 64 and struck out 237.
