The Toronto Titans pitching did its job today, holding hot-hitting Lonnie Owens hitless in 4 at-bats during a 3-0 victory over the Chicago Grizzlies at Bill Veeck Park. This disappointing performance ended his 30-game hitting streak.
"I'm a little down right now," Owens told BNN after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me and I hated to see the streak end, too."
This season Owens is batting .365 with 217 hits, 40 home runs, 141 RBIs, .431 OBP and has scored 118 runs.

| Saturday, September 20th, 2014: 30-Game Hitting Streak for Owens
The hot bat of Grizzlies third baseman Lonnie Owens continues to churn out hit after hit, game after game. His consecutive-game hitting streak now numbers 30 games after he went 1-for-4 in today's 10-5 loss to the Titans at Bill Veeck Park.
L. Owens walked in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
This season Owens is batting .368 with 40 home runs. His totals include 141 RBIs and 118 runs scored.

Toronto defeated Omaha today 7-6 and took some of the joy out of Shawn Crane's 300th career home run.
"I just wanted to get a good swing on the ball all day," Crane said. "And I did."
Despite the loss, it was a good game for the 33-year-old Evil first baseman. He had 2 hits, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBI.
The Titans manager said, "You could see he was aggressive up there. The worst thing we did was throw him a strike. It probably would have been better if threw the ball outside of the strike zone every time he came to the plate because he seemed like he was in a hurry to get it over with."
In 1727 career games Crane has batted .287 with 1919 hits with 413 doubles, 47 triples and 300 home runs. He has also collected 1143 RBIs and scored 1075 runs.
