Monday, July 6th, 2015: Eastern League Names Top Player
Colt Kelly has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 24-year-old left fielder of the Asheville Tourists had a pretty fair bat in the Eastern League over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors.

Kelly batted .444 with 12 hits in 27 at-bats, 4 home runs and 9 RBIs.

Currently Kelly has 19 home runs and a .315 batting average.
Friday, July 3rd, 2015: Harris and Buchanan Suspended, Out 4 Games
Shawn Harris of the Asheville Tourists and Dane Buchanan of the Pittsburgh River Bandits received official notice today from the league commissioner's office that they had been suspended 4 games for their roles in the on-field disturbance in a recent game at Azalea Park.

So far this year in 78 games Harris is hitting .249 with 7 home runs, 34 RBIs and 30 runs scored.

To date this season Buchanan is 7-5 with 17 starts and an ERA of 2.62 with 117 strikeouts in 123.2 innings.
Wednesday, July 1st, 2015: Terry on Fire, 5-6 Against Woodstock
No matter what the Woodstock Harlequins threw at him today, Deron Terry hit it. He easily handled Harlequins pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Tourists to a 14-4 triumph at Azalea Park.

He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball."

The Woodstock skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we may just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure."

D. Terry singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

This year Terry has hit at a .283 pace and produced 45 RBIs, 11 home runs and scored 36 runs.
