Friday, October 24th, 2014: Portland Beats Lowell in World Series
The Portland Beavers were crowned the champions of the Over The Mound today as they put away the Lowell Knights at Snapper Stadium 9-2.

It was the Beavers 3rd time to win it as they finished off the Knights 4-2 in the World Series.

During the Western League Duffy Division regular season Portland put up a 96-66 record and finished first.
Monday, September 29th, 2014: Holcomb Cruises to Shutout
Zach Holcomb was dynamite today and just blew Woodstock away in the 3-0 victory. The Lowell Knights starter had everything working as he hurled a 1-hit shutout over the Harlequins, recording 6 strikeouts and 4 walks.

"He was pure nasty out there today. I don't think any team in the league would've had a chance against what he was bringing," said the Woodstock skipper during his postgame press conference.

This season Holcomb has a 4-0 record with a 0.52 ERA.
Monday, September 22nd, 2014: Sáenz on Fire, 5-6 Against Brooklyn
Lyndon Sáenz was on quite a roll today as he knocked the ball all over the park, collecting 5 hits and leading the Knights to a 7-3 victory over the Brooklyn Hoodrats.

After the first three hits, all eyes in the ballpark were drawn to him each time he stepped into the batter's box. Even a few of the opposing fans were pulling for him, knowing they were watching a little baseball-hitting history unfold.

In the clubhouse, crowded by reporters, the Lowell center fielder said, "I never realized that batting a little ball around could cause so much commotion." When asked what the secret of hitting so well is, he smiled and replied, "The key to hitting for a high average is to relax, concentrate and hit the ball where they ain't."

Nobody was at home today as Sáenz finished the day with 5 hits in 6 at-bats and a line in the record book.

L. Sáenz grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

In his season totals, Sáenz has 11 home runs, .304 BA, .422 OBP, 95 RBIs and 119 runs scored. He has played in 146 games.
