Monday, June 22nd, 2015: Love Wins SL2 Player of the Week Prize
Doug Love went on a hitting rampage last week against Sub League 2 pitchers and collected the Player of the Week Award.

The Spokane first baseman connected for 12 hits in 27 at-bats and 1 home run. For the week he hit .444 with 10 RBIs and scored 4 runs.

So far this year Love has hit .264 with 6 home runs, 42 RBIs and 30 runs scored.

Tuesday, June 9th, 2015: 5 Hits for Knights Avanca
It was high-5 day at Knights Ballpark, at least for Cisco Avanca of the Spokane Knights. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the Henderson Tartans. Avanca smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on his record-setting day, leading his club to a 11-8 win.

His manager said, "Cisco was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him."

In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine."

C. Avanca grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off J. Unknown in the 9th.

In 2015 Avanca has produced 48 hits in 199 at-bats for a .241 average with 2 home runs and gotten on base at a .286 clip.

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015: Samuels Sharp in Shutout
How good was Doug Samuels today? Just ask the Saint Paul Blue Hens, who were blanked 4-0. The Blue Hens could muster just 3 hits against the 21-year-old Spokane hurler. In a fine showing Samuels had 6 strikeouts and walked 1.

So far this season, Samuels has logged a 3-2 record with a 4.01 ERA. He has started 6 games, hurled 42.2 innings and registered 25 strikeouts and 6 walks.
