| Breaking News | | Saturday, July 4th, 2015: Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl The action was hot and heavy at a recent Amboy-Burlington Lake game at Nightmare Ballpark in more ways than one. When tempers flared, both benches emptied and a mild melee ensued. The only thing hurt was a few players' pride. Two of the main figures in the brawl were suspended today by league officials. The Nightmare Freddy Gutiérrez and Burlington Lake's Shawn Carlisle will each miss 7 games for their roles in the fight.
"We do not condone this kind of behavior on the field," the league announcement read. "As such, we feel that this punishment fits the actions taken by these two players. We hope that there will not be a repeat of the incident or else the consequences will be even more severe."
This season Gutiérrez is batting .310 with 96 hits, 5 home runs, 45 RBIs, .409 OBP and has scored 40 runs.
This year Carlisle has compiled a 6-4 record with a 3.23 ERA. | | Thursday, July 2nd, 2015: Amboy's Cox Shines, Shuts out Newark It was a masterful game today for Trey Cox.
