At the age of 30, Sammy DeWitt might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Evansville third baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days collecting the Western League Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 12 hits in 28 at-bats, 4 home runs and 9 RBIs last week in 7 games.
DeWitt's current batting average stands at .270 and he has chalked up 12 home runs and 46 RBIs.

 | Friday, June 26th, 2015: Evansville's Ramírez Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
Evansville shortstop Rafael Ramírez really lit up the Toronto Titans with a 5-hit barrage today at Otters Stadium -- a performance that sparked the Otters to a 11-6 triumph.
He shrugged off the performance after the game and said, "Sometimes the ball finds outfielders, today the ball found some holes."
R. Ramírez singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, tripled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.
Ramírez is presently hitting at a .249 pace with 1 home run, 23 RBIs and has scored 31 times.

 | Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015: 20-Game Hitting Streak for Watts
Mexican Hat's Pat Watts was 2-5 in the Wild Burros 8-4 victory over the Evansville Otters. That stretched his hitting streak to 20 games.
In the clubhouse after the win, the 35-year-old Watts told reporters, "I'm in a groove right now, and I am trying to stay there by doing the same things over and over again. If I change something, it might bring me bad luck."
P. Watts flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th.
Thus far this season in 70 games Watts is batting .327 with 5 home runs, 47 RBIs and 50 runs scored. He has 92 hits in 281 at-bats.
