| Breaking News | | Friday, June 26th, 2015: Choquette Tosses No-Hitter Against Glenwood "Marius Choquette was just was just plain nasty on the mound today," according to his batterymate and quite a few of the Glenwood Glory after the Garland hurler fired a 6-0 no-hitter.
The Glory were powerless against him. "It is what we call in baseball 'filthy'... his stuff was just too much for us today," the losing manager told reporters after the game."
In an overpowering performance Choquette faced 31 batters in all and finish the game with 5 strikeouts and 3 walks.
"After the first couple of innings, I knew I had some good stuff going," Verlander said. "In the bullpen, it really wasn't that good, to be honest. But when I got out on the mound and flipped the switch, I had some pretty good stuff. I had a good fastball with control and I was able to throw my breaking ball and changeup for strikes."
This season Choquette has a 7-3 mark in 16 starts with a 3.13 ERA. He has given up 104 hits in 109.1 innings, struck out 70 and issued 25 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .248 batting average against him. | | Monday, June 1st, 2015: Garland's Crabtree - Chosen May's Best in SL2 When Jerry Crabtree takes the hill, chances are good for a Garland victory. At least that's the way it was in May.
He excelled with a 5-1 mark and 2.01 ERA in 7 starts, tossed 53.2 innings, fanned 22 and held others clubs to a .222 average.
That's why the Spikes star was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the Sub League 2.
This season Crabtree has compiled a 7-3 mark with a 3.18 ERA. | | Sunday, May 17th, 2015: McClellan's Season Could be Over The season is ending on a bad note for Artie McClellan, reliever for the Garland Spikes. He suffered back spasms and will be out for at least 8 months.
In 2015, McClellan has made no relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 3-4 won-lost mark and a 4.62 ERA.
