| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, May 26th, 2015: Scorchers Brereton Lost for Year
Louis Brereton of the Scorchers just might have to call it quits for the season. The 20-year-old Pinch starting pitcher received a possible season-ending injury against the Avondale Estates Pearls recently at Field of the Scorchers. Brereton suffered bone chips in his elbow while throwing a pitch. The Scorchers medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 13 months.
In 2015 Brereton has posted a record of 4 wins and 5 losses with a 2.93 ERA. He has appeared in 11 games and struck out 20 in 70.2 innings.

 | Monday, May 25th, 2015: Carbajal Punishes SL2 Pitchers This Week
Today the Sub League 2 announced the Player of the Week Award. This week's honoree is Pinch first baseman Bernardo Carbajal. When he steps into the batter's box, it's usually bad news for pitchers.
For the week he batted .462 (12-26) with 1 home run and 4 RBIs.
Thus far this year Carbajal has hit .375 with 2 home runs and 8 RBIs.

| Saturday, May 16th, 2015: Brereton Tosses Shutout for Pinch
Louis Brereton was stingy with runs in his latest outing against the Knights. He shut them out 1-0 on 4 hits with 2 strikeouts and 2 walks.
The Pinch manager said, "Louis was very aggressive tonight. He threw everything he had with a lot of confidence."
The losing manager had praise, too. "He was throwing strikes with all his pitches and mixing it up well. Brereton has a sneaky fastball, and whatever that offspeed pitch was, it was keeping our timing off."
Brereton has started 9 times this year, pitched 61.1 innings, fanned 20 batters and walked 22. His current record is 3 wins and 5 losses with a 3.23 ERA.
