19-year-old Wally Brown sent shock waves through OTM Rookie League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Sub League 2 Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Brown made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .556 average, 15 hits in 27 at-bats, 1 home run and 8 RBI.
Where the Shoemakersville Ghost Riders first baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Brown certainly made his mark last week.
This season-to-date Brown has 1 home run and a .319 batting average.

 | Sunday, August 24th, 2014: Ghost Riders Wood Blanks Jaguars
"He was kind of teasing them with his offspeed stuff and his fastball was moving everywhere," the Shoemakersville skipper said after Mal Wood shut out the Akron Jaguars 3-0 on a 4-hit masterpiece.
Wood registered 2 strikeouts and issued no walks in a gem of a performance.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well... or he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said the Akron manager after the defeat.
In 5 starts this year Wood has crafted a 4-1 record and a 1.26 ERA.

Raleigh's Raúl Hernández breezed through the Ghost Riders lineup today, collecting a 5-hit shutout and a 4-0 victory along the way. Hernández fanned 4 as well.
"I didn't really feel like I had my game today," Hernández confessed, "but some days are like that -- you just gotta go with what you have."
