"He's got a bunch of different arm angles and his ball was really moving," said the Bellaire manager after watching David Garza of the Milford Snipes humiliate his club 2-0 in a fine 5-hit shutout.
"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Garza said after he befuddled the Ramjets. "I was making good pitches the entire game."
He whiffed 3 and walked 2 in the complete game effort.
In 2014, Garza has a 4-1 mark in 9 starts with a 1.54 ERA. He has given up 46 hits in 70 innings, struck out 37 and issued 12 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .184 batting average against him.

 | Wednesday, August 13th, 2014: Tirado-Pérez Batters Milford for 5 Hits
Xavier Tirado-Pérez of the Defiants was unstoppable in today's 6-4 victory over the Milford Snipes at Defiants Ballpark. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Baytown right fielder after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-5 won't hurt your batting average like 0-5 will."
X. Tirado-Pérez doubled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This year Tirado-Pérez has hit no home runs and posted a .289 batting average.

| Monday, August 4th, 2014: Garza Hurls No-Hitter Against Blue Sox
Milford is abuzz in the wake of a masterful no-hitter by David Garza against the Glendale Blue Sox. In a dominating 5-0 performance at Snipes Ballpark, the 19-year-old hurler had 5 strikeouts and 1 walk. Not one batter managed a hit.
The Glendale manager said after the game, "You could tell early on it was going to be a long day for us. He made us look real bad. He was that good. And still going strong at the end of the game."
"Yeah, this was a special day for me," said Garza. "I had my good stuff and good movement... good location, too. Even when I was off and made a mistake, I got away with it today."
This season Garza has a 3-1 record with a 1.88 ERA in 7 starts.
