Saturday, October 7th, 2023: Tri-City fans will be disappointed to learn that Don Clayton suffered elbow inflammation while throwing a pitch in today's game. After the doctor informed the Tri-City ValleyCats manager that Clayton was expected to miss one week, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the starting pitcher could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
In season stats Clayton shows a 12-15 record in 34 games, 231 innings, 110 strikeouts and a 4.40 ERA.
