Monday, May 24th, 2021: 26-year-old Carlos Hernández sent shock waves through Over The Mound last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Western League Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Hernández made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .524 average, 11 hits in 21 at-bats, 2 home runs and 13 RBI.
Where the Omaha Evil left fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Hernández certainly made his mark last week.
Looking at his season stats, Hernández has compiled a .288 batting average and a .326 on-base percentage, while hitting 9 home runs and driving in 32 runs. |

Ortíz piled up 11 hits in 21 at-bats, 2 home runs and 5 RBIs while hitting .524.
On the year Ortíz is hitting .349 with 37 hits, 2 home runs, 15 RBIs, .402 OBP and has scored 18 runs. |
